Update \u2013 Longview school evacuation:<\/p>\n

The Longview School was evacuated Monday March 23, 2026, due to sewer back up issues.  The evacuation has continued to today, Wednesday March 25, 2026 \u2013 all the school kids have been evacuated to the Village Community Hall each of these days.<\/p>\n

There is a Regular Council meeting tonight – Tuesday March 17, 2026, 6:30 pm at the Community Hall.  The electronic sign is in process of repair, does not reflect updates – apologies.<\/p>\n

DVCOP<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Some background on this community volunteer safety monitoring program:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

-DVCOP is a non-Council\/Admin volunteer group that provides services within the village, if anyone wishes to contact DVCOP, they can email DVCOP (diamondvalleycop53@gmail.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

-DVCOP first reached out via the June 2025 Regular Council meeting.  There was an RFD to Council about having a Longview DVCOP Team.<\/p>\n

-July 2025 newsletter in the “From Council” portion – informed the community of the DVCOP information night.<\/p>\n

-August 2025 posters advertising the DVCOP information night were put up on the village bulletin board and in the Community Hall and on the village Facebook page.<\/p>\n

-DVCOP updates were presented by Village of Longview Council in the September 2025 Regular Council meeting.<\/p>\n

-Administration was tasked by the past Council to get DVCOP signs made and put up throughout the village.<\/p>\n

Post Office evening access<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Starting Wednesday February 4, 2026, Village of Longview Council has volunteered to do the Village office lockup Wednesday (only) of each week at 8 pm – to help residents who cannot easily make it to the post office by 6 p.m.  <\/p>\n
