Welcome to Longview! Located on Highway 22, 35 km west of High River and 18 Km South of Black Diamond, Longview is a Cool Little Town with much to offer. Galleries, gourmet dining, entertainment, one of a kind events, and a family friendly campground. We are also the most direct gateway to the Kananaskis Provincial Park. We would like to acknowledge the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes Blackfoot Confederacy members Siksika, Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations, the Stoney Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Wesley First Nations, the Dene of Tsuut’ina First Nations, and the Métis Nation Region 3, and all those that made Treaty 7 lands their home.

The Village of Longview is considering an amendment to the Village’s Land Use Bylaw to add Campgrounds as a discretionary use to the Central Business Restricted (CBR) Land Use District.

A Public Hearing for the proposed bylaw (Bylaw 491-26) has been scheduled for June 23, 2026, at 6:45 PM at the Longview Community Hall. The public hearing will include in-person and virtual attendance options, as required by the Municipal Government Act. Instructions on how to join the Public Hearing via Teams will be posted on the Village’s website 3 days prior to the Public Hearing.
