Village of Longview

Welcome to Longview! Located on Highway 22, 35 km west of High River and 18 Km South of Black Diamond, Longview is a Cool Little Town with much to offer. Galleries, gourmet dining, entertainment, one of a kind events, and a family friendly campground. We are also the most direct gateway to the Kananaskis Provincial Park. Come and experience Longview Alberta for yourself! We would like to acknowledge the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes Blackfoot Confederacy members Siksika, Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations, the Stoney Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Wesley First Nations, the Dene of Tsuut’ina First Nations, and the Métis Nation Region 3, and all those that made Treaty 7 lands their home.

DVCOP

Some background on this community volunteer safety monitoring program:

-DVCOP is a non-Council/Admin volunteer group that provides services within the village, if anyone wishes to contact DVCOP, they can email DVCOP (diamondvalleycop53@gmail.com).

-DVCOP first reached out via the June 2025 Regular Council meeting. There was an RFD to Council about having a Longview DVCOP Team.

-July 2025 newsletter in the “From Council” portion – informed the community of the DVCOP information night.

-August 2025 posters advertising the DVCOP information night were put up on the village bulletin board and in the Community Hall and on the village Facebook page.

-DVCOP updates were presented by Village of Longview Council in the September 2025 Regular Council meeting.

-Administration was tasked by the past Council to get DVCOP signs made and put up throughout the village.

Post Office evening access

Starting Wednesday February 4, 2026, Village of Longview Council has volunteered to do the Village office lockup Wednesday (only) of each week at 8 pm – to help residents who cannot easily make it to the post office by 6 p.m.
